Battle Report - Orks vs Eldar 1000pts - Conclusion

Since the recent Orks vs Eldar battle report, I've managed to solicit a few thoughts from the players, Denny and Tom. It was an entertaining game to watch, pretty much hinging on a single dice roll, as is any good battle. So without further ado, here are the armies involved, and Denny and Tom give us their opinions...

First Post, Huzzah and All That

So... Yet another 40k themed blog from yet another would-be blogger.

It's taken me a long time to get around to starting something like this. I've been wanting to record something of my adventures in the 40k hobby for a while, be it painting/modeling, thoughts on army list design, tactics, battle reports or whatever. After a few varying failed attempts at getting off my arse and building a site for this stuff, I have finally taken the easy route and signed up for a blog. You never know, it might be of some interest to someone out there, or if not then it just makes a good archive for my own future reference.

I guess I should say something about myself... By day, I'm a software developer living in Canterbury in the UK (nice cathedral, you should come and take a look - very Gothic). By night, I'm a tank obsessed Imperial Guard player and avid painter. There is a group of 4 or 5 of us who play regular games of 40k with the occasional Necromunda campaign thrown in for good measure. We also have regular painting sessions, which helps us motivate each other to actually get things done and finish our armies - at least that's the theory.

I have pretty much played solely Imperial Guard armies since 2nd edition 40k, with the odd dabble into Chaos armies here and there. Currently I have an approximately 2000 point Guard army, with a sort of WWII Eastern Front theme to them, using the Steel Legion miniatures plus some tanks. I'm also working on a mechanized army, which I've been meaning to get around to for ages. These guys are the plastic Cadians, along with a whole bunch of Chimeras. Something about fielding nothing but tanks really freaks out your opponent...

I'll try to get some photos of everything together up on the blog and see if I can be disciplined and get some kind of post on here at least once a week. So stay tuned, and we'll see how it goes I guess...
